HOW TO PRAY, THE OUR FATHER,

Some of us may have a hard time with prayer for the simple fact we
don’t know how to pray or what to pray about. This is why the
prayer the Lord gave us is so important. The Our Father is the
model of the way we should pray. This is the prayer Jesus taught
his disciples.
Jesus was very faithful each day to pray to his Father (God). The
bible speaks of Jesus praying early in the morning and going away
to spent time in prayer.

Everyday begin your prayer with giving God praise and worship. In
Hebrews 13:15. It says to continually offer to God a sacrifice of
praise the fruit of our lips that confess His name. When you praise
God your attitude changes and you are ready for the day. Reading
the book of Psalms has some great scriptures to praise God with.
Speaking loving words from your heart or sing a song is a great
way to praise God. David was one of the most powerful worshipers
in the bible. He wrote most of the Psalms and was so overjoyed he
danced before the Lord.

Remember to confess your sins to the Lord. In 1st. John 8-9 it
says, if we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the
truth is not in us. When we confess are sins he is faithful and just
and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

We are also told that we are to forgive one another. For if you
forgive men when they sin against you your heavenly Father will
also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins your
Father will not forgive your sins Matthew 6-14

One of my personal favorites is giving God thanks. I love to thank
God. He is so awesome how can we not thank him. The true test is
when we thank God when everything in our life is going wrong. I
have had many opportunities to do that and I am thankful that He
was there to get me through the tough times. We have to trust in
Him enough to know that everything will be okay; he already knows
what we need before we even ask Him.

Oh! I almost forgot we can pray for ourselves, sometimes we start
praising God and thanking Him and we forget what we were going
to ask God for. Maybe it was not as important as we thought it was.
Sometimes God will even put other people on our heart to pray for,
and that is a blessing to pray for others on their behalf. Many men
and women in the bible prayed to God on others behalf and God
heard their prayers.
Remember the prayer of a righteous man avails much. Meaning
when you pray and your heart is right, God hears you. We also
pray for protection for our family and pray that we would not be
tempted to sin.

Here is a good way to remember how to pray using the letters A. C.
T. S.
Adoration for God, then Confess and repent of your sins,
Thanking God for everything, then Supplication or intercession
for others, this is the way God our Father tells us how to pray.
