JESUS Heals Ten Lepers
JESUS HEALED TEN LEPERS

by Kim Gallovich

On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus passed through one of the nearby villages.  Ten
men who had leprosy, saw Jesus coming and asked Him to have mercy on
them and heal them.

Now leprosy was a terrible disease, and there was no cure for the people who
had it.
The lepers had to leave their home and family. The lepers had to beg for all their
food, because they were not allowed to work or get close to any of the people.

Jesus wanted the 10 men to go back and show themselves to the priest.
On the way back they saw they were healed.
One of the men ran back and was praising and thanking Jesus for healing him.
Jesus was glad to see him but wondered where they other nine men were

Read  Luke 17: 11-19

Scripture memory verse: Give thanks to the Lord for He is good his mercy
endures for ever. Psalm 136 verse 1

Teaching:  Jesus healed all ten lepers but only one leper came back to thank
Jesus. Jesus was very happy to see the one man come back. Jesus was also
sad that the others did not come back.
We should love Jesus enough  to tell Him thank you everyday for all the
things He does for you. It pleases Jesus when we take the time to say Thank
You!

Games: Draw a picture on the board of ten men with markers or you can use
chalk if you have a chalk board. Have the children come up and put dots on the
men. Have the children say Jesus have Mercy on us. Then have the children
erase all the dots.

Have each child say one thing they are thankful for and all the rest of the children
say the scripture verse after they say what they are thankful for.
