YOU ARE THE SALT AND THE LIGHT Jesus went up to the mountain sat down and began to teach. Jesus told the people that when men said bad things about them and hurt them they are blessed. There are people in the world that don’t like Christians they get angry when you tell them about Jesus, some Christians get hurt because they will not deny Jesus. Jesus tells us to rejoice and be glad for great is our reward in heaven. Jesus tells us that we are the salt of the earth. If the salt looses the flavor it is no longer good. The salt is the Christian the word of God in us creates the flavor. Then Jesus says you are the light of the world. We reflect the light which comes from Jesus. Jesus tells us that a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. The light in us cannot be hid. Men do not light a candle and put it under a basket but we put it under a candlestick and it gives light to all who are in the house. Jesus tells us to let our light shine before men, that they may see your good works. Just think if we loved in a world with no light just darkness. We do not have to live in a dark world, because Jesus died on the cross for us, when we believe in Him then we will be the light that shines in a dark world. We can then shine our light before men and bring them out of the darkness and into the light. |
